Perfect Health through prayer and Infinite Intelligence

It seems as though so much has happened since my first entry almost a month ago (which is probably why its been so long in between entries.) Nevertheless, I am here and All praise is to due to for I am better today than I was yesterday and God willing I'll be better tomorrow than I am today. So here is a quick or not so quick recap...

So as I have began my journey towards perfect health I have quickly found MY blueprint to success drafted by the MASTER ARCHITECT Himself! With faith and prayer it is amazing how God will lead you exactly where you need to be.

Racquetball is MY JOINT! Everyone that knows me knows that it is one of my favorite past times. Well as I have recently relocated I have been struggling to find a decent indoor spot to play... Enter facebook. A friend hit me up on FB and the subject came up....Long story short- He suggested an inexpensive gym (which I am now a member of) and low and behold they have decent indoor racquetball courts! Not only that, upon my initial visit to the gym to check it out, I ran into a close friend of mine that I had lost contact with after graduating from undergrad in 2002. Facebook, Myspace, LinkedIn, email, networking..nothing was able to reconnect us and then I walk in to the gym and who do I see plating Racquetball? My old friend...I was amazed! Everything happens for a reason.

I have my initial consultation with a personal trainer and we go through several strength and agility tests, balance, core this, upper that, the whole nine and he basically tell me what I already knew...IM A FAT ASS! LOL! Nah, I'm actually a lot better than I thought. We go over some workouts and whatnot that I should due to reach my fitness goals and will have a follow up meeting on the 23rd of Oct.

My dad had told me to read this book awhile back but the way he presented it (while telling me about getting a job) made it somewhat unattractive; I mean when you are going through something doing your best to work it out and someone else is constantly telling you what you need to be doing, it usually falls on deaf ears; so needless to say I wasnt interested. I came home one day and he gave me the book. So after a couple weeks of it setting on the bookshelf collecting dust and taking up space, I decided to read it, I mean what harm could it do and I was starting this "renewal" so hey... well after getting to about 1/2 through the third chapter I had began calling several close friends telling them that they need to run out and GET THIS BOOK! It literally changed my life in a matter of hours. This book combined with consistency of prayer, patience, and perseverance had instantly made me whole...what a feeling! Just like that I had acquired all of the components to my formula for success and {insert appropriate word here}

The book is The Power of Your Subconscious Mind and it isn't what I would call a se
lf help book for those tend to be 'blah' but this book is simply awesome. It speaks on the Infinite Intelligence that is your subconscious, the power of suggestion, perfect prayer, how the mind works, belief, etc.... Its definitely a book that everyone should read. You (as I have) will see the benefits immediately.

Whatchu talkin' bout Willis?!

The purpose of this blog is to document my transition into what some call "healthy living." We've all heard the numerous clichés "past is prologue", "back to basics", "what goes around comes around"- yadda, yadda, yadda... We'll I think this is true about many facets of life including our health care practices. I can remember my great grandmother armed with her "Back to Eden" book and a kitchen full of herbs and concoctions. While I didn’t appreciate them now, things have some full circle. I am getting it in with a return to those times. There is a verse in the Qur’an that asks "Which of the favors of your lord will you deny?" I believe that while we are indeed imperfect, we are apart of a perfect creation fully equipped with all that we need. But, which of the favors of our lord do we continue to deny? Western medicine has created an impenetrable mindset that disregards and dispels natural medicine. This is ridiculous because Americans are some of the unhealthiest people on this earth. Many of our problems aren’t universal and there is a simple reason for that… (think about it)

So as I embark on this journey, I will share some of the happenings (good and bad) and knowledge that I encounter along the way.
